About the event
On May 15, St. John’s Episcopal Church in Grand Haven brings back a Messiah Sing-in (assuming no Covid variants arise to derail our plans once again!) We will have strings, harpsichord, organ, and trumpet, once again, as well as a choir to handle the more difficult choruses. If you would like to participate in the prepared chorus, we will be rehearsing throughout April and May on Wednesday evenings and Sunday mornings. There will be Saturday rehearsals as well for those who are busy with other commitments. If you can't make any of these, but want to enjoy the experience, everyone is welcome to attend the performance and join in singing five of the somewhat easier choruses. For more information, contact Director of Music Nick Palmer at music@sjegh.com.
A free-will offering will be taken and, after costs are covered, the remainder will be divided between the Music Fund (providing resources for our music ministry now) and the Music & Fine Arts Endowment (creating a base for a steady stream of resources in the future). We are currently soliciting concert patrons in the following categories: - Oratorio Supporters (up to $50) - Choristers ($50–$99) - Librettists ($100–$249) - Friends of Handel ($250–$499) - Musical Heritage Supporters ($500 and up)
