About the event
Each summer Father Cramer invites you to join him on reading through some books that have been on his shelf "to read." Taking the conversation deeper after last month's book, this month we will read "The New Asceticism: Sexuality, Gender, and the Quest for God" by theologian and Anglican priest Sara Coakley. Cutting creatively across established ecclesiastical battle lines, Coakley draws both liberal and conservative camps into a new and serious reflection on ascetical theology, focusing each chapter on a contentious issue in contemporary theology (the role of women, homosexuality and the priesthood, celibacy, etc.). Sign-up at the Parish Information Table and join us on Monday, July 14, from 5:30pm-7pm for what will surely be a rich conversation.. We will order books on June 9 so that everyone has a chance to read in advance. Please sign up by then.
