About the event
The most sacred night of the year, the night when Christ rises from the dead, destroying death and giving life to those who sleep, is the Great Vigil of Easter. Join us at 8:30pm on Easter Eve, Saturday, April 16. We begin in the Parish Memorial Garden where we light new fire, bless a new paschal candle, and then process into the church. The Exsultet, one of the most ancient songs of the church, is sung and we hear once more the story of our salvation. Then, we celebrate baptism and Easter begins with the first Easter celebration of Holy Eucharist. The liturgy includes choir, incense, and is the most solemn offering of worship the entire year. Join us.
